Class Description

Ages 12 and up or at recommedation of instructor

Pre-requisite is Cartoon Character Design.

This course will build on the principles of character construction learned in the Introduction to Cartooning class, and will encourage students to consider the other elements involved in cartoon and comic creation, such as perspective, light and shadow, texture, story-telling, etc. The popular manga drawing style will also be explored. Students will work from references as well as from their imaginations. The Advanced class will learn how to finish an illustration with inking, lettering, and colouring with marker. This course will build on the principles of character construction learned in the Introduction to Cartooning class, and will encourage students to consider the other elements involved in cartoon and comic creation including story-telling, perspective, light and shadow, and texture.

• Must have taken Intro to Cartooning previously.
