Comic Book and Story Boarding

Class Description

Instructor: Audra Balion

Ages 9 & Up

Students will learn the process for creating their own comics. Weekly lessons will help students learn how to develop a comic, from story, through planning, and into a finished work. Teaching methods will include demonstrations, examples, and specific exercises. Lessons will cover roles within the comic industry, comic elements, storytelling basics, script writing, visual storytelling elements, character sheets, thumbnails, composition and flow, shot selection, and basic inking. Everything you need to learn to start your own comic book or 4 panel comic strip. Supplies will be provided for the students at an additional cost. (Est. $35) Recommended for artists that already took the Intro to Cartooning class.

Because of the progression of lessons within the Specialized classes, enrollment may not be accepted after the first day of class and make-up classes will not be possible.
